Rick Kanic-Leocor is the Red Cosmic Ranger, the Red Ranger of the Cosmic Force Rangers. An extra-terrestrial human from Planet Leonis in the Lion Galaxy, and its Crown Prince and heir to the throne. Chronologically, his Super Cosmic Orb was the fifth to be awakened. He was born on July 14th, 2004, and is 20 years old.

History[]

Past[]

Rick Kanic-Leocor was born to Queen Viera Leocor and Prince Consort Mick Kanic on July 14th, 2004 on the Planet Leonis, in the Lion Galaxy. The first toy he played with was a lion named Julius, which he loved very much. However, everything changed when the Void Empire attacked his home planet, and they were quickly overrun. However, Mick secretly worked with Billy to move Rick to Earth, where he'd live in exile with his Aunt Sharon and Uncle Robert, and would land in Stone Canyon, where he'd live for most of his childhood.

Present[]

He started college at Stone Canyon Community College, where he would take science class in Dr. Cranton's class. Kylie, one of his classmates, and a bit of a troublemaker, dared him to go to an empty lot, where he'd find a great discovery, which he reluctantly did. However, when they got there, he saw a siren named Celina Hawkins, stuck in a hole in the ground, and unable to fly out. He decided to help her out, because of the kindness of his heart, and Kylie reluctantly agreed to do it. They struggled at first, but, with the help of their Super Cosmic Orbs, they managed to pull her out, while accidentally knocking off one of Celina's shoes, landing on Rick's head. He gave her his shoe back once a Crystal Palace was summoned, and the spirit of Mick Kanic told them the truth about everything, which Kylie refused to believe, but Rick believed it, but didn't believe he was the right guy to lead a team. However, Mick told him that everything would be revealed only in time.

Personality[]

Rick is optomistic, determined, and hyperactive, but also very naive and anti-social. He rarely goes out with anyone, outside of school, or with his fellow Power Rangers. He also has a tendency to make decisions with barely any evidence and believe in their plausibility no matter how much the facts suggest otherwise. This, combined with his naivety, makes him come across as immature and stupid. However, he has solid instincts and a logic to his actions, paying attention to things that others do not.

He is overdependent on his luck, and quickly became insecure and even panicked when his luck ran out, this becoming apparent when he was defeated by Inkworth. In truth, this all stems from his traumatic childhood in the past, leading him to believe that he was born unlucky. In turn, his frequent shouts of "Alright lucky!" serve as a form of encouragement to himself as he tries his best to stay positive and uphold his unwavering belief in good fortune. He later manages to regain his confidence, which helps him in defeating Inkworth.

Overtime, he would begin to open up his shell, and would help other rangers join the team, understanding their struggles more than most other rangers, and he would get especially close with Celina, due to both of them being royals who lost their families to the Void Empire, not just becoming friends, but also lovers. Both Kylie and Dorado would tease them about it, considering how hypnotic siren powers are, but, they care less about hypnotism, and more so about looking out for one another.

Notes[]

  • Rick's preferred Cosmic Weapon mode (Cosmic Sword) is the only one out of its nine modes to use all of the attachable pieces.
  • He is the first Power Ranger with an enhanced form that is a different color from their default, the first being Zayto from Dino Fury.
